Our Story
Modern Retrofit was born from the love of restoring and improving classic Porsches. Since the 70’s and 80’s technology has evolved and so have drivers requirements.
Here at Modern Retrofit we have included that evolution in combination with traditional design language, crafting solutions for your car inspired by the original design.
Restoring a classic car is a large undertaking and at many stages of your journey you are faced with a cross roads. You must decide if you will stick with the original specification, or seek a modern solution to the problem faced, leveraging the technology of the day to improve operation, reliability or ascetics.
This was a challenge that troubled one of Modern Retrofits founders when completing his classic Porsche restoration. Many, many hours of internet research on each decision were performed, and in some cases a solution that was both practical for modern requirements, reliable and function but that paid homage to the initial design language wasn’t forthcoming.
Inevitability this lead to custom designing specific solutions for the project, and based on feedback from other car enthusiasts Modern Retrofit was born. You too now have the opportunity to include our solutions in your project, and we hope you enjoy them as much as we have.
